Ron Duquette, Past Chair, Director

Ron Duquette is a retired corporate filmmaker. He has been actively involved in the Mississauga community for over forty years. Mr. Duquette was a member of the Mayor’s Gala organizing committee for twenty-two years and is a recipient of the Mississauga Citizen of the Year award and a Rotary, Paul Harris Fellow. He has served on a variety of Boards and Committees over the years including the Living Arts Centre, The Mississauga International Children’s Festival, Interim Place, Community Living Mississauga and the Mississauga Celebration Square Events Committee. Most recently, he founded Legends Row, Mississauga’s Walk of Fame and is President of that organization.

Jeff McPhee, Director of Security and Treasurer:

Jeff McPhee is the owner of a local business and accounting services firm and is actively involved in the Port Credit community. Mr. McPhee has been a board member of the Port Credit BIA and sits on the Boards of the Canada Day celebrations and the “Twas the Bite Before Christmas” activities in the community. A former Chair of the Southside Shuffle, Mr. McPhee’s extensive accounting and business services experience and up to date accounting software knowledge has improved our accounting structure, streamlined our financial reporting and assisted in upgrading our bookkeeper’s skills and responsibilities.

Jeff Jones, Director: Graphic Design, Video Production, Website and

Marketing Communications: 

Jeff is an award-winning graphic designer who has been involved with the Southside Shuffle for over 20 years. His knowledge of print media and marketing helps us keep the Shuffle front and centre with our large target audience

Michael Bacon – Secretary, Director, Logistics

A proud Port Credit resident, Michael has enjoyed over 20 years in the music business as an artist manager of local Mississauga singer/songwriters including Suzie McNeil.  He also serves as the Artistic Director of Toronto’s Lakeshore Mardi Gras, and as the production manager for Port Credit’s Paint the Town Red celebrations.  Michael is a longtime supporter of the Southside Shuffle and honoured to serve on the advisory board with long time colleagues and some new friends as well.  His years of experience in the music business and other key roles in other festivals is a welcomed asset to the team.

Chuck Jackson, Founder, Artistic Director - Part Time Staff:

Chuck’s passion and commitment to music and the community keeps him actively devoted to the Southside Shuffle and its sustainability. A musical performer for over 45 years and lead singer of Canada’s famed Downchild Blues Band, Chuck has numerous contacts and partnerships in the music industry, providing the festival with performer avenues otherwise not available. His reputation and respect from both the community and the musicians we employ is a key element to the festival’s success. Chuck is a Juno and Maple Blues Award winner and has been recognized for his contribution to music and the community as a member of both Mississauga Legends Row and the Music Walk of Fame.

Corinne Jardin, Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper:

A long- time friend of Chuck Jackson, Corinne has been a part of the festival for most of its existence. Retired from the banking industry, Corinne is responsible for assisting with bookkeeping duties as required, artists’ accommodations and numerous other logistical requirements. Her history with the festival provides a solid foundation from which we work.

Dave Voyce - Street Shuffle Coordinator: 

Dave, along with friends Chuck Jackson and John Krush, launched the inaugural Southside Shuffle in 1999.

 A successful business professional, Dave has worn many hats over his 20 years with the festival, including logistics, licensing, accounting, sponsorship and grant writing, along with developing collaborative relationships with the City.

For the past number of years he has been responsible for the planning and operations of the highly popular street shuffle and was asked to re-join the festival advisory committee in 2019.

In addition to Dave’s work with the Southside Shuffle, his community involvement includes the Canada Day and In Situ Arts Festival advisory committees as well as numerous local fundraisers.

Deb Corpe - Kin Club & Bar Team Leader: 

Deb has been involved with the Southside Shuffle since 2005 initially volunteering at one beer tent but now has the responsibility of running all the bars for the Festival. She recruits, organizes and schedules over 60 volunteers for approximately 240 shifts throughout the course of the weekend, along with ensuring the bars are well stocked at all times. She is also a member of KIN Canada, the only all Canadian Service Club and has been since 2003. The motto of KIN is “Serving your community’s greatest need” and she does this enthusiastically and diligently. She has held many roles within KIN, but the role she is most proud of was her appointment to District Service Director with the primary goal of helping the membership across the District to raise money for research for Cystic Fibrosis Canada (KIN Canada Partner). Her background is in accounting and finance, starting her career at a major Canadian Bank for 11 years and for the past few years in the Construction industry doing credit and collections. She is a lifelong resident of Mississauga and strongly believes in “giving back” as well as “paying it forward”.

Craig McDonald

Craig is the Executive Director of Metalworks Institute.  His role at Metalworks is to help enrich the student experience and to facilitate linkages between Metalworks and other educational institutions and arts-oriented/arts-adjacent organizations.

He is a passionate consumer of recorded and live music – but couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket.  Craig and his wife Lauren live in Port Credit, and before welcoming their toddler Everleigh, traveled all over North America to take in shows.  The most memorable being a 4500 km road trip that included seeing two nights of John Moreland at a dive bar in Tulsa Oklahoma and a serendipitous stop, while lost in Kentucky, that coincided with opening act of the Lincoln Jamboree’s Weekly Saturday night show in Hodgenville.

Michele Jamerson

Michele joined the board in 2022 after serving as Volunteer Coordinator for 5 years. It is a position she still holds overseeing 300 volunteers and 3 Assistant Volunteer Coordinators. She is responsible for scheduling the volunteers, hosting the volunteer orientation sessions and the volunteer appreciation party as well as monitoring performance and scheduling workshops.  Michele is also responsible for administration of our dedicated Eventbrite page for ticket sales.

Thomas Tomovic 

Thomas joined the board in 2022 with over 38 years of Executive Management experience in Logistics as well as Directorships at non-profit boards ( CPC / Fight SMA ) A race car enthusiast, Thomas was involved in NTT Indy Car Series sponsorships for over 10 years. A proud Port Credit resident and avid musician, it was only natural that Thomas has dedicated his spare time to joining the South Side Shuffle board in Logistics, Sales, and Marketing support.

Kristine Kane, Chair: Volunteers, Sponsorship & Grants:

Kristine Kane joined the Board of Directors in 2010 bringing many years of performance and touring experience to the team. Ms. Kane is a member of the Mississauga based band Loco Zydeco and has travelled throughout Canada and the United States performing at a variety of music Festivals. Ms. Kane graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in mass media and journalism. Her professional background as a business partner for 35 years with Ideal Personnel, a local placement agency, enhances the Board’s Human Resources experience for staffing and volunteers. Ms. Kane took over grant writing & sponsorship in 2015 and has been successful in securing funding for the Festival.
