In Loving Memory of Steve Korbey

It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of the sudden passing of one of our long‑time volunteers, Steve Korbey.

Steve, along with his beloved wife Christine, had been part of the Southside Shuffle family since 2012. He also gave countless hours of his time to the Waterfront Festival, Buskerfest, and Paint the Town Red. Steve was the very definition of a community booster — someone who showed up, lifted others up, and made every event brighter simply by being there.

He had a wonderfully dry sense of humour and an uncanny ability to find the funny side of life. I don’t think any of us ever saw him without a smile on his face or a twinkle in his eye. And his love for Christine was boundless — a constant, beautiful presence that inspired everyone who knew them.

It is hard to imagine September without Steve there, ready to help in any way he could and to keep us all laughing. He was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his absence will be deeply felt.
